Goddess Kayla lay upon a cloud, high in the sky. She was watching down over the human race. She twirled a long lock of red hair between her fingers and sighed. Why were earthly men so pathetic? Day in and day out, she watched as their greedy, self-indulging attitudes ruined their lives. No human man seemed right to devote his life to servitude to his eternal Goddess.
All of them were a waste of a good thing. Human toys could be so much fun, but they’ve been souring in recent years—all but one. Kayla spied him one day as she watched over the whole world; he was helping an older woman with her grocery cart, and something about him drew in the Goddess. Kayla knew that he would be the only man worthy of serving her.
