Yesterday was one of those days where my little ABDL was just…off. Cranky doesn’t even begin to cover it. He was fussy, clingy, and nothing seemed to make him happy. I spent the morning trying different things. Toys, cuddles, a change of scenery – nothing seemed to break through his little storm cloud. He was clearly uncomfortable, and my heart ached to ease his distress. I’ve learned to recognize the signs, and a big one was the escalating fussiness that usually precedes a desperate need for sleep.
Knowing he was likely overtired, I decided to try a gentle approach. First, I ran a lukewarm bath. The warm water often works wonders, relaxing his body and washing away the grumps. As I gently bathed him, I talked softly, humming little tunes and making silly faces. I could feel his tension slowly melting away as he splashed and played, even managing a few smiles.
Yesterday was one of those days
After the bath, I carefully dried him and powdered him down before putting him in a fresh, clean diaper. There’s something so comforting about the feeling of a clean diaper, and I hoped it would add to the soothing effect. Snuggled in a soft blanket, he still seemed a little restless, but the edge of his earlier crankiness had softened.
Finally, I settled into my rocking chair, cradling him close. Offering him my breast, I began to rock gently. The motion, the warmth, and the familiar comfort of nursing slowly began to work their magic. His eyes started to droop, and his hands, which had been flailing just moments before, relaxed against my chest.
The rocking chair creaked softly as I hummed a lullaby. Watching him drift off to sleep, his face finally peaceful, a wave of love washed over me. I stayed with him, rocking him and smiling, until he woke up.
