Mommy Anna had invited company over almost every week during the holidays. With every visit, her guests would bring something. A wreath here, a Poinsettia there, a dessert or two as well. One night, she had a couple drop by and gift her and the family a panettone, only this one wasn’t a family favorite. It had nuts in it.
Naughty Ronnie can’t even behave during the holidays
After a long dinner, Ronnie was exhausted from trying to get rid of every single brussel sprout that had been forced onto his plate. He fed some to the family pets, flushed some down the toilet and hid some in his napkin. He proceeded to leave the kids table and sneak into the kitchen to see if he could find some dessert. There was the Panettone bread, beautifully wrapped in cellophane. But how ugly it looked with those nuts. ‘’Who puts nuts in a panettone?!’’ Thought Ronnie. So, he unwrapped the beautiful bread, and began picking them out, one by one in hopes he could enjoy the bread plain.
Before you know it, he had a pile of nuts on the kitchen table and a decent enough section of the panettone bread was bear and approved for eating to his liking. Just then, he heard Mommy Anna’s heels clicking down the hallway. When she entered the kitchen she gasped at the sight of the panettone which had been mutilated with half of its nuts removed and placed into a neat little triangular pile almost resembling and Christmas tree. Ronnie was quick enough to hide under the kitchen table, covered with its long holiday table cloth.
How on earth was Mommy Anna to serve this panettone now? She couldn’t bring it out like that in front of her guests. She thought fast, cut the remaining good piece along with other bread cakes and put an assortment out on a tray. That way, her guests wouldn’t be offended or suspect a thing. After an hour-long goodbye at the front door, Mommy Anna finally said goodnight to her guests. As soon as the door slammed shut and locked, Ronnie ran up to his room to hide. He knew what was coming next…
