You awake in complete darkness—nothing but the sound of dripping water around you and a slight ringing in your ears. You’re disoriented and don’t remember how you got here, but your mind is filled with a vague sense of dread and a sudden acute awareness of how cold you are. Your body seems to be wet, and the damp, cold air chills you deep into your bones. It’s not a painful cold, but it’s certainly uncomfortable. Breathing in the air is musty and damp, akin to a cave or old basement.
Have you been taken captive? What could be happening? Where could you be?
