It’s not a secret, not really. Not to anyone who’s spent more than an hour with me discussing my dating life. My friends just sigh and nod. But it’s true. Unapologetically true. Some people search for a connection, a meeting of minds, a shared love for obscure indie films. All valid, I suppose. For me? I mean, sure, those are nice bonuses. And I don’t mean ‘a little above average, nice.’ I mean, fill-you-up, stretch-you-out, leave-no-doubt big. The way it anchors you, the undeniable mass that makes subtle movements feel like seismic shifts. It’s not just about the numbers, though that’s certainly part of the equation. It’s the feeling of being completely, utterly taken. Of every nerve ending singing a roaring symphony, leaving no void, no empty space.
My Not So Secret Preference
Navigating the dating scene with such a specific taste can be interesting. Guys try to impress with their witty banter, or their well-curated Instagrams, or their impressive job titles, and I’m just silently, politely, wondering if they’re going to measure up. It’s a silent appraisal, a quiet hope that the package truly matches the promise. Because frankly, anything less feels like a warm-up. A polite prelude for a main event that never quite arrives. “Are you in?” I never know with the small ones…It’s always a guess, at best.
I’ve tried to broaden my horizons, I really have. Went on dates with men who checked all the other boxes – kind, funny, intelligent. And they were, truly. But something was always missing. A lack of oomph. A sense of being only partially engaged, a whisper where I craved a shout. It’s like being served a gourmet appetizer when your soul is hungry for a five-course meal.
